Meaning of Easter and Easter Bunny

It's been quite a while since my last post and a just a few days, we will be celebrating Easter Day. To Christians, Easter Day is a meaningful day besides Christmas as it symbolize of Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because of Jesus scarifice at the cross, human's sin are then can be forgiven. Apart of the theological meaning, often we also see bunnies and eggs during Easter day especially at western countries. This year in Melbourne, most of the department stores and supermarkets have been start selling chocolates bunnies and eggs few weeks earlier.

It's been quite interesting as you can see many different type of chocolates bunnies and eggs in the market. Although it's been common to see bunny and egg during Easter Day, however not many know the meaning behind it. Therefore i did a quick search at Wikipedia and this is the explaination: "The Easter Bunny is a rabbit-spirit. Long ago, he was called the "Easter Hare", hares and rabbits have frequent multiple births so they became a symbol of fertility. The custom of an Easter egg hunt began because children believed that hares laid eggs in the grass. The Romans believed that "All life comes from an egg." Christians consider eggs to be "the seed of life" and so they are symbolic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today on Easter Sunday, many children wake up to find that the Easter Bunny has left them baskets of candy".

Besides, i also found that in Australia here, on Good Friday, it is a tradition to eat Cross Bun. This are some of the intresting stuff that i like to share around. Hope everyone have a wonderful and blessed Easter Day ahead!
